Job Description

Lead manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.

Design, develop, and optimize tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions that improve product quality, throughput, and repeatability.

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support to production personnel and supervisors.

Develop, update, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing documentation.

Implement process improvements that enhance cost, quality, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.

Partner with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing requirements and drive effective process changes.

Coordinate manufacturing development activities with production scheduling and operational priorities.

Establish and maintain process controls, including statistical process control (SPC) methods where appropriate.

Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.

Identify, specify, and procure manufacturing equipment, tooling, and materials that support operational goals.

Evaluate opportunities for automation, equipment upgrades, and process optimization.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Manufacturing Engineer should have:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a low- to medium-volume production environment.

Strong understanding of advanced Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES); Tulip experience is a plus.

CAD proficiency for tooling, fixture, and manufacturing support activities.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable process improvements.

Experience working in cleanroom manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of precision optical alignment processes.

Familiarity with thermal vacuum testing systems and environments.

Experience supporting qualification hardware, flight hardware, or other mission-critical aerospace products.

Background in aerospace, defense, satellite, propulsion, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
