Sustaining Engineering & Product Lifecycle Ownership

    • Lead sustaining engineering activities for released products, ensuring reliability, serviceability, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions for field issues, quality escapes, and reliability concerns.
    • Own engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) related to performance, quality, manufacturability, cost, and serviceability.
    • Partner closely with Quality and Manufacturing on defect analysis, containment actions, and long-term corrective strategies.

    New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

    • Support NPI programs to ensure products are designed for long-term reliability, serviceability, and field readiness.
    • Provide sustaining and service input into design reviews, validation plans, and reliability testing.
    • Ensure effective transition from development to sustaining ownership post-launch.

    Service Escalations & Customer Support

    • Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex service, customer, and field issues.
    • Support Global Services and Field Service teams during high-impact customer escalations.
    • Participate in on-site customer visits as needed to resolve critical issues and reinforce customer confidence.
    • Partner with Service leadership to improve procedures, tools, and training based on field learnings.

    Lab, Validation & Technical Support

    • Support performance, validation, and reliability lab activities, including test planning and failure analysis.
    • Analyze lab and field data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams to validate design changes and corrective actions.

    Cross-Functional Leadership & Process Improvement

    • Act as a technical liaison across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Global Services.
    • Develop sustaining documentation including service bulletins, technical advisories, and lessons learned.
    • Improve sustaining engineering processes aligned with a scaling organization and ISO-based quality systems.
    • Mentor and guide engineers and technical staff supporting sustaining and service efforts.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • 10+ years of experience in data centers or mission-critical cooling environments, or 15+ years of experience in HVAC, thermal systems, or the cooling industry.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting products across the full lifecycle, including post-launch sustainment.
    • Proven success managing technical service escalations and customer-facing issue resolution.
    • Strong background in root-cause analysis, reliability engineering, and corrective action implementation.
    • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Services organizations.

    Preferred Experience & Skills

    • Prior experience leading or managing a sustaining engineering function or team.
    • Deep technical knowledge of data center cooling systems, HVAC equipment, or mission-critical infrastructure.
    • Experience supporting performance testing, validation labs, and reliability testing.
