ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a well-established supply chain and operations consulting firm with a long record of delivering measurable results for industrial and consumer-facing companies. The firm is independent and led by the people who do the work, which means decisions about clients, people, and investment get made quickly and close to the engagement.
The firm is investing heavily in an AI-augmented delivery model that pairs experienced operators with modern tools. The technology speeds up the analysis, and experienced people still make the calls.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Manager to own major workstreams on procurement and operations engagements, or lead a smaller engagement outright, and to be accountable for delivery, measurable results, and client satisfaction. You will act as a trusted advisor to client leadership and work alongside the Engagement Director, with real exposure to broader engagement leadership.
This is a role for someone who wants to build a modern consulting practice around AI-augmented delivery, not defend their seat against it.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
·Lead a small engagement or 4-6 complex workstreams across procurement and operations, delivering results that exceed the engagement's target benefits.
·Lead strategic sourcing and category work, supplier negotiations, or operations improvement in manufacturing, planning, and logistics, depending on the engagement.
·Identify and implement process optimization opportunities, and make sure improvements hold after the team rolls off.
·Act as a trusted advisor to mid-level and senior client stakeholders, building relationships through candor, empathy, and follow-through.
·Work alongside the Engagement Director on key tasks, taking an expanded role in client meetings, alignment sessions, and critical decisions.
·Manage a team of 2-5 Associates and Consultants, and mentor them toward promotion.
·Stay current on emerging methodologies, market dynamics, and technology, including the firm's AI-driven delivery model, and use them to shape engagement strategy.
·Contribute to 3-5 proposals and participate in qualified sales meetings.
·Lead internal and external firm-building initiatives, including thought leadership such as articles, case studies, or industry presentations.
WHAT YOU BRING
·Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
·6-9 years of experience in consulting, supply chain, procurement, or operations.
·A proven track record leading workstreams or small engagements, with quantified results in savings, EBITDA, working capital, or service.
·Deep expertise in supply chain frameworks and tools, with hands-on depth in one or more of the following: strategic sourcing and category management, supplier negotiation, manufacturing and plant operations, lean and continuous improvement, S&OP and planning, inventory optimization, or logistics and distribution.
·Experience managing, coaching, and developing consulting teams.
·Curiosity and comfort with modern tools and emerging technologies, including AI.
·Strategic leadership and exceptional client relationship management skills.
·Willingness to travel up to 80%.
PREFERRED
·CPSM, Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or ASCM (APICS) CPIM or CSCP certification.
·Experience at a procurement or operations consulting firm.
