We are seeking a highly motivated IC Design Engineering Manager to lead and contribute to cutting-edge RF Front-End designs. In this role, you will collaborate with other analog/RFIC and module designers to develop advanced architectures and innovative IC designs. As an RFIC Engineering Manager, you will oversee the analysis, design, simulation, and development of RF LNA and switch IPs for next-generation mobile devices using technologies such as SOI, SiGe, and others.

This position demands innovation, leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a chip lead, you will play a pivotal role in defining and realizing successful products.

You will lead a team of 4 to 8 designers, working closely with RF and analog circuit designers to develop RF LNAs for the high-volume, fast-paced cellular handset market. Your team will be part of a broader IC design group that delivers SOI RF switch and PA bias controller design services. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company’s success by working closely with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team of 4–8 engineers in the design and verification of integrated circuits for wireless consumer electronic products.
  • Drive continuous improvements in RF LNA performance, size, and cost by leveraging IC processes and co-designing with RFFE MCM and filter design teams.
  • Interface with domestic and international design teams across multiple design centers and time zones.
  • Mentor and train team members in RF/analog IC design techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to establish and maintain best practices and workflows across multiple sites.
  • Enhance team efficiency and optimize design workflows.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree with 15+ years, Master’s Degree with 12+ years, or PhD with 8+ years of RF/Analog IC design experience using SOI, SiGe, or CMOS technologies.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proven track record in RF/analog product design and innovation.
    • Expertise in RF front-end switch, PA, and LNA design and development.
    • Strong understanding of analog control and bias circuits, including POR, bias, bandgap, LDO, op-amp, charge pump, and fuse design.
    • Experience implementing on-chip ESD protection strategies for HBM/CDM.
    • Proficient in debugging and resolving RF/Analog design issues, optimizing layouts for performance and die size trade-offs.
    • Proficiency with Cadence tools and layout processes, including LVS and DRC.
    • Ability to guide CAD engineers on RF/analog layouts.
  • Additional Skills:

    • Familiarity with the MIPI standard and digital decoder design.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated project and talent management abilities, including:
      • Engaging and motivating engineering teams.
      • Defining deliverables and managing resources and schedules.
      • Driving design methodology improvements to achieve optimal results.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting base pay will be based on factors such as experience, skills, education, market demands, responsibilities, and location. The client offers a variety of base pay ranges for U.S. locations. Benefits include healthcare options (with a premium-free medical plan), a 401(k) plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, and paid time off (vacation, wellness days, and parental leave). Employees are also eligible for an incentive plan, and certain roles may qualify for additional awards, including recognition and stock options, based on individual and company performance.
