    Description

Enterprise Foundational AI is changing how every Amazonian works by building AI products and scalable foundations that make knowledge workers measurably more productive. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product Management - Technical to own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery for a portfolio that includes Amazon Quick, AI model routing and orchestration optimization services, and foundational products that accelerate Amazon"s shift to an AI-native product development lifecycle. In this role, you will lead a team of product managers and technical program managers through significant ambiguity, deciding which problems to solve, how to sequence investment, and when to pivot. You will partner with engineering, AWS product teams, and functional stakeholders in Security, Legal, and People Experience and Technology (PXT) to ship products that reach every major Amazon business unit. If you want to shape the AI tools that hundreds of thousands of Amazonians rely on every day, we would love to talk.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Define and communicate the multi-year product vision and strategy for Enterprise Foundational AI"s portfolio, translating ambiguous internal customer needs into a prioritized roadmap that balances near-term delivery with long-term platform goals.
    • Lead, coach, and grow a team of product managers and technical program managers, setting the hiring bar, developing future leaders, and building an inclusive team culture where people make sound decisions and deliver independently.
    • Partner with engineering and applied science teams to develop functional and non-functional requirements, evaluate system design trade-offs around scalability and performance, and determine when to integrate generative AI capabilities to improve product quality and team productivity.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment with AWS product teams, Security, Legal, PXT, and major Amazon business units by writing clear strategic narratives and presenting investment cases to senior leadership.
    • Establish mechanisms to inspect product quality, operational performance, and the internal customer experience, proactively identifying risks and decomposing complex problems into actionable solutions that scale across the organization.

    A day in the life

Your morning might start by reviewing a product narrative from one of your direct reports, sharpening the customer problem statement before a working session with engineering on AI model orchestration trade-offs. After lunch you lead a roadmap prioritization discussion, helping the team weigh competing signals from business units against resource constraints. Later you prepare a strategic update for senior leadership, distilling progress on Amazon Quick adoption into a concise, data-informed story that frames the path forward.

    About the team

Enterprise Foundational AI builds the products, layers, and services that put trusted generative AI in the hands of every Amazonian. The team"s portfolio spans Amazon Quick, AI model routing and orchestration, and foundational capabilities that are accelerating Amazon"s AI-native transformation. As the investment in AI-native products continues to grow, the team is expanding. You will manage product managers and technical program managers, partnering closely with AWS product teams and cross-functional stakeholders across Security, Legal, and PXT. If you are excited about building AI products at a scale few organizations can match, this is the team for you.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
