SENIOR MANAGER OF REINSURANCE

A unique opportunity for an experienced reinsurance professional to step into a high-impact Senior Manager of Reinsurance position with a sophisticated organization in the automotive sector.

This is not simply a role focused on maintaining an existing reinsurance program. The Senior Manager of Reinsurance will have the opportunity to understand and influence the economics of the program, assess profitability, strengthen controls and reporting, and become a key partner to the Controller and senior leadership.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Take ownership of the reinsurance structure, economics, agreements, commissions, cession methodology, settlements, and flow of funds.
• Evaluate reinsurance performance, loss experience, frequency, severity, and profitability and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
• Translate complex reinsurance and financial information into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
• Coordinate regulatory filings, licensing, form/rate requirements, and responses with consultants, regulators, carrier partners, and external advisors.
• Oversee recurring calculations, cession statements, reconciliations, and settlements while strengthening accuracy and controls.
• Develop more robust reporting, documentation, and procedures, reducing reliance on undocumented institutional knowledge.
• Build relationships with and learn from the existing reinsurance team, capturing critical knowledge and creating effective cross-training and succession plans.
• Ultimately lead, supervise, and develop the reinsurance function as succession needs evolve.
• Partner closely with the Controller and senior leadership on forecasts, scenarios, risk analysis, profitability, and business recommendations.
• Maintain clear ownership of reinsurance while working collaboratively with Finance and other key stakeholders.
