DESCRIPTION

The Senior Manager of ECE Effectiveness & Quality serves as an early care & education subject matter expert within the organization to ensure that our early care & education services are high quality for children and families within our community through implementation of best practices, alignment across programs to ensure consistent standards, and ongoing monitoring and continuous program improvement activities. This role supports the Vice President of Early Care & Education within the four bi-state early childhood education centers, the Home Child Care Network program, the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, the Prevention Initiative, Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) Home Visiting, and the Illinois Smart Start Apprenticeship Program.

As SAL Community Services' Senior Manager of ECE Effectiveness & Quality, you will have the opportunity for meaningful work including:

Program Quality:
  • Provide support to day-to-day operations of early care and education programming to ensure effective and timely delivery high-quality services of all four early childhood education centers, the Home Child Care Network program, the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, the Prevention Initiative, Illinois Department of Early Childhood Home Visiting, and the Illinois Smart Start Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ensures organizational mission, vision, and values are consistent and aligned across all early care and education services and areas of impact.
  • Supports coordination, alignment, and evaluation of early childhood education centers, the Home Child Care Network program, the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, the Prevention Initiative, and Illinois Department of Early Childhood Home Visiting.
  • Lead cross agency team to support enrollment initiatives as set forth by the Vice President of Early Care & Education
  • Provide best-practice research and development on trends, training and implementation, licensing, accreditation, quality systems compliance, and strategic development of long-term practice changes that improve the quality of early education and care.
  • Promote SAL Community Services early care and education programs in the community to drive strategic partnerships to meet community needs.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Provide program support and guidance within quality and improvement standards as an early care & education subject matter expert.
  • Ensure policies and procedures that promote best practices in early childhood education, family support, and program management are adhered to across early care and education services.
  • Support planning, implementation and evaluation of practices impacted by licensing, accreditation and quality rating systems.
  • Ensure all programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including agency contracts and grants and other relevant guidelines.
Apprenticeship Program Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and oversight of Illinois Smart Start Apprenticeship Program and implementation of apprenticeship initiative within Iowa-based services.
  • Provide management, supervision, and reflective practice support to Apprenticeship Mentor position.
  • Act as agency liaison at local, state, and regional apprenticeship meetings, trainings, and outreach.
  • Cultivate and recruit apprentices in alignment with apprenticeship program guidelines.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of three years experience in an early care and education environment. Preferred: Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field with minimum of three years experience in an early care and education environment. Preference will be given to those with a combination of direct early education and care/school aged classroom experience and experience in management/administration in an early education and care/school aged program.
