Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain — Capital Equipment (CapEx)

McCarran, NV | Full-Time | $150,000 – $190,000

The Opportunity

Hundreds of millions in capital equipment. Suppliers on three continents. A factory expansion roadmap that doesn't slow down. Our client — a rapidly scaling clean energy innovator — is hiring a Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain to own end-to-end procurement, logistics, and supplier management for the capital equipment behind their manufacturing expansion. You'll set global sourcing strategy, negotiate the big contracts, build and lead a team, and be the person Engineering, Finance, and Operations count on to deliver equipment on time, on budget, and to spec.

Why You'll Love It

  • Leadership role with real spend: Own global CapEx sourcing strategy and build the team behind it
  • Global stage: Strategic suppliers across international machinery and process equipment markets
  • End-to-end scope: From RFQ through customs clearance to final-mile delivery at site
  • Nevada advantage: No state income tax, Reno-Tahoe at your doorstep

What You'll Do

  • Lead global sourcing strategy for capital equipment across all company facilities
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle — requirements, RFQ/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract execution, PO management
  • Build and qualify a competitive supplier base to support an aggressive capacity expansion roadmap
  • Drive total cost of ownership reductions through negotiation, design-for-cost, and strategic sourcing levers
  • Build and lead a team partnering with Engineering, Finance, and PM on specs, lead times, and acceptance criteria
  • Serve as primary contact for strategic equipment suppliers; run QBRs against on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost KPIs
  • Qualify and onboard new suppliers to reduce single-source risk; manage escalations and disputes
  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments — import/export compliance, customs, freight forwarding, final-mile delivery
  • Align equipment deliveries with construction and commissioning timelines; maintain trackers, dashboards, and spend reporting for executives
  • Develop category strategies, spend management policies, and procurement KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC where applicable) and ESG commitments
  • Mentor junior supply chain talent and build organizational capability

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain/procurement experience, with 4+ focused on capital equipment in manufacturing, energy, or industrial settings
  • Track record managing complex, high-value capital equipment procurements
  • Strong knowledge of global supplier landscapes for industrial machinery and process equipment
  • Proven negotiation results — cost savings and favorable terms
  • International logistics fluency: incoterms, customs, trade compliance
  • ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement tools
  • Executive presence and strong project management skills
  • Preferred: MBA/MS, battery/semiconductor/chemical/energy industry experience, CPSM, high-growth or greenfield background, Mandarin/German/Japanese fluency
