Role Summary
The Senior Manager, FP&A - IT will serve as the primary finance business partner for the technology organization, providing strategic financial leadership, analytical insights, and operational support across IT investments, capital projects, staffing, and enterprise technology spending. This highly visible role works closely with senior technology and finance leaders to drive informed decision making, improve financial performance, and maximize returns on technology investments.
The ideal candidate combines strong FP&A expertise with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities for savings and efficiency, develop meaningful analytics, and influence business decisions through data-driven recommendations. This position offers substantial exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to impact enterprise-wide technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Partner directly with technology leadership to manage budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, capital investments, and operational spending
Perform month end financial analysis, identify variances, recommend accrual adjustments, and communicate findings to finance leadership
Evaluate technology investments, capitalization activities, and business initiatives through ROI and cost benefit analysis
Develop and enhance financial models, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting that support strategic decision making
Analyze spending trends and proactively identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies
Support the annual budgeting process, long range planning activities, audits, and financial policy compliance
Collaborate with business leaders to assess risks, identify opportunities, and develop action plans to improve financial performance
Serve as the liaison between finance and technology teams, translating financial results into actionable business insights
Key Requirements
5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting, or strategic planning
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
Experience supporting technology organizations, technology spending, capital investments, or large operational budgets
Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills with the ability to build meaningful reporting and dashboards
Strong understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, accruals, capitalization, ROI analysis, and GAAP principles
Experience working with Procure to Pay applications and financial planning tools
Ability to influence business leaders, challenge investment decisions constructively, and support strategic planning initiatives
Excellent communication, presentation, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced business degree
Experience within technology, financial services, business services, or other complex corporate environments
Experience supporting large scale IT organizations and enterprise software investments
Background working within publicly traded or multi business unit organizations
