Position Overview

The Senior Manager Controllership Integration is a hands-on integration leader responsible for driving the accounting workstreams on one of the largest food-industry combinations in years - the McCormick and Unilever Foods integration - while also serving as a key leader in the broader Controllership integration governance. The Senior Manager Controllership Integration reports directly to the Director Controllership Integration and will be responsible for overseeing various workstreams and managing third-party service providers and staff augmentation resources. This role has exposure to the global Finance and Integration Management organizations and will have opportunities to present to Finance leadership including the VP & Controller.

This role is fully dedicated to integration activities through close and for a period thereafter with an eventual transition into the end state organizational design.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting & Workstream Lead:

  • Serve as the dedicated Accounting lead for the financial integration through close and beyond
  • Oversee corporate accounting workstreams, including employee benefit plans, stock compensation, segment reporting, lease accounting, accounting for joint ventures and variable interest entities
  • Coordinate with external advisors to document technical accounting positions
  • Assess target company accounting policies for conversion from US GAAP to IFRS, and drive conversion activities and alignment to McCormick accounting policies
  • Oversee the process establishment step for each assigned sub-workstream, defining target-state processes, controls, and system requirements in coordination with the Controllership Integration Director and workstream advisors
  • Maintain awareness of internal controls over financial reporting, including coordination with external auditors
  • Partner with other Controllership leads to ensure consistent treatment and reporting where areas intersect with the broader Controllership integration workstreams

Integration Governance & Execution:

  • Maintain coordinated workplans to facilitate program status reporting across workstreams
  • Coordinate day-to-day activity with external advisory firms supporting sub-workstreams, ensuring deliverables stay on schedule and issues are escalated promptly
  • Prepare regular status updates and executive level readouts summarizing workstream progress
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies to drive proactive resolution across workstreams
  • Facilitate working sessions with workstream owners, advisors, and cross-functional partners to clarify open items and stay on track with key integration milestones

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of accounting / finance experience
  • In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting and filing processes
  • Experience supporting M&A integrations
  • Proficiency in US GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to support and analyze complex accounting / finance processes
  • Experience working with and directing external advisors and third-party service providers
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional workstreams, influence stakeholders across multiple business functions, and communicate effectively with executive leadership
  • Strong communication, program management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite; SAP and Hyperion experience/skills a plus
  • Proficiency in IFRS a plus

Base Salary: $103,520 to $181,150

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
