    Description

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

This role owns AFS's brand identity, content strategy, and organic market presence end-to-end. The Senior Manager has authority to publish content, manage the brand standards guide, and coordinate PR and media relationships. Significant brand changes (logo, visual identity, tone guide updates) and media commitments require CBIO review. Key cross-functional dependencies include Demand Generation (for SEO alignment and nurture content), Product Marketing (for message alignment and product launch content), and sales (for collateral needs and client story access). The role operates in AFS's FFIEC-regulated environment and must ensure all published content is accurate, compliant, and consistent with AFS's legal and regulatory positioning.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Build and run an AI-native content engine capable of producing high-quality thought leadership, product content, and demand-supporting assets at consistent velocity.
    • Own website copy and on-page SEO in close partnership with the Demand Generation team — ensuring content drives organic traffic and supports inbound pipeline.
    • Manage the LinkedIn content calendar and grow AFS's organic social presence among commercial lending decision-makers.
    • Produce whitepapers, guides, case studies, video scripts, and blog content that educate the market and support the funnel at every stage.
    • Lead PR and media relations — place AFS in relevant banking industry publications, manage press releases, and build relationships with trade media covering commercial lending technology.
    • Own and steward AFS brand standards, voice, and visual consistency across all internal and external assets.
    • Create and manage nurture email content in close partnership with the Demand Generation team.
    • Support product marketing with content execution for product launch campaigns, including collateral production and sales enablement asset creation.
    • Track content performance using SEO and engagement metrics — report on organic reach, content-influenced pipeline, and traffic trends to the CBIO.
    • Build and maintain an editorial calendar aligned to demand generation programs, product launches, conference calendar, and market events.

FIRST 12 MONTHS: WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in the first year is defined by a fully operational, high-output content engine — with AFS building genuine visibility and credibility in the commercial banking market, a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints, and content that measurably supports both pipeline and retention.

    • Publish and operationalize an AFS brand standards guide — covering voice, visual identity, and content principles — within 60 days; adopted across all marketing materials.
    • Establish a content production cadence publishing at least 4 high-quality assets per month (blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, social content) within 90 days of start.
    • Achieve measurable growth in organic website traffic and LinkedIn engagement within 12 months, with baseline and target metrics agreed with the CBIO at 30 days.
    • Secure AFS placement in at least 3 banking industry publications or trade outlets within the first 12 months through proactive PR outreach.
    • Deliver a library of at least 6 client case studies and reference stories in coordination with Product Marketing and Client Services.
    • Build and maintain an editorial calendar that is coordinated with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and the conference/events calendar.
    • Establish a monthly content performance report reviewed with the CBIO — covering organic reach, SEO rankings, content-influenced pipeline, and asset engagement.

    WAYS OF WORKING

    • AI-native production mindset: treat AI tools as a standard part of the production workflow — use them to scale output without sacrificing editorial quality, accuracy, or brand consistency.
    • Audience-first editorial judgment: write and commission content that serves the commercial lending buyer's actual information needs, not just AFS's marketing agenda.
    • Brand stewardship: hold a consistent, high standard for tone, accuracy, and visual presentation across every AFS touchpoint — every published asset reflects the brand.
    • Cross-functional coordination: stay closely aligned with Demand Generation on SEO and nurture priorities, with Product Marketing on message accuracy, and with sales on content utility.
    • Regulatory awareness: operate with an understanding of AFS's FFIEC-regulated environment; ensure all published content — especially anything touching compliance, security, or regulatory claims — is reviewed appropriately.
    • Builder mentality: AFS is creating its content and brand function largely from scratch; this role requires comfort setting up systems, processes, and workflows that didn't previously exist.

    PROFILE

This is a builder role at its core. The content and brand function at AFS is largely being created from scratch, and the right person brings the rare combination of strategic clarity (what should AFS stand for in this market?) and personal execution ability.  They operate with low ego, high output, and an instinct for what resonates with a conservative, relationship-driven audience of bankers and lending professionals.

    • Working knowledge of SEO principles and content performance measurement tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or equivalent).
    • Experience managing PR and media relationships — placing stories in trade publications and maintaining a proactive media program.

    • Familiarity with or interest in the banking, financial services, or regulated technology market preferred.
