    Description

AWS is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Cross-Category Services marketing team. This role owns the marketing strategy and execution for a portfolio of services that help AWS customers accelerate their cloud transformations and achieve long-term success: AWS Training & Certification, AWS Support, AWS Professional Services, and AWS Marketplace & Partner Services.

These services represent a critical part of the AWS customer journey - from building skills and getting expert guidance, to finding and deploying third-party solutions, to ensuring ongoing operational excellence. Together they generate billions in revenue.

As the leader of this team, you will build and manage a high-performing team of product marketers, develop differentiated positioning and messaging for each portfolio, drive customer insights that inform marketing strategy, and serve as the connective tissue between diverse business stakeholders who have different operating rhythms, go-to-market motions, and customer audiences.

This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity - someone who can context-switch fluidly across businesses while maintaining strategic coherence, who builds trust with senior stakeholders through intellectual rigor and consistent delivery.

    Key job responsibilities

    Marketing Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and own the marketing strategy for Training & Certification, Support, Professional Services, and Marketplace - including positioning, messaging, value propositions, and go-to-market plans
    • Synthesize customer insights, market data, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and shape strategy across all four businesses
    • Drive differentiated messaging that connects each service to the broader AWS customer success narrative - helping customers understand how these services accelerate transformation
    • Lead product launch strategies and associated plans, including naming, target audience definition, content development, and marketing vehicle selection
    • Continuously measure and optimize marketing performance, establishing KPIs and mechanisms for each portfolio

    Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Serve as the primary marketing partner to four distinct business leadership teams, each with different operating rhythms, customer segments, and go-to-market motions
    • Build deep trust with VP and Director-level stakeholders across product, sales, professional services, and partner organizations through intellectual rigor and consistent delivery
    • Navigate competing priorities and resource constraints across portfolios - making principled trade-off decisions and communicating them transparently

    People Management & Team Building

    • Build, lead, and develop a team of product and general marketing professionals spanning multiple portfolios and locations
    • Hire, retain, and grow top marketing talent
    • Resource the team effectively across portfolios, making staffing recommendations aligned to business priority and impact

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
