Cvent is seeking a Senior Manager, Art Direction & Production to lead and develop our global team of designers, own the operational backbone of our creative production process, and serve as the primary driver of brand enablement across the organization.
This is a people leadership role focused on designers. As a peer to our creative copywriting and video leads, you will sit within the broader creative function reporting directly to the Creative Director. You will own the day-to-day art direction of design output, manage the systems and templates that allow the broader organization to work in-brand, and establish the process and tooling standards that enable a high-quality, high-efficiency design operation.
This role is ideal for someone who is a strong design leader, a thoughtful manager of people, and an operator who believes great creative and great process go hand in hand.
Design Team Leadership & Management
Directly manage a global team of designers, setting clear expectations, providing consistent creative direction, and fostering a culture of craft, accountability, and professional growth.
Lead art direction across design deliverables, ensuring all output reflects Cvent's brand standards and creative quality bar.
Build team capacity and competency, identifying skill gaps, coaching toward growth, and partnering with the Creative Director on hiring and team development.
Manage workload distribution, bandwidth planning, and day-to-day prioritization across the design team.
Brand Enablement & Template Systems
Own and evolve Cvent's library of brand-approved templates, asset banks, and design components that enable non-design teams to produce on-brand work independently.
Develop and maintain scalable brand enablement resources including toolkits, style guides, component libraries, and usage documentation.
Proactively identify where teams are working around brand standards and build solutions that make working in-brand the path of least resistance.
Train and educate internal stakeholders on how to correctly apply brand assets, templates, and design best practices.
Production Operations & Process Excellence
Own the production workflow for the design team, including intake, trafficking, versioning, and delivery processes.
Establish and enforce clear SLAs, asset management conventions, and quality control checkpoints that support a high-volume, high-quality creative operation.
Lead the evaluation, adoption, and optimization of design and production tools, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and output quality.
Partner with the Creative Director and peer creative leads (copy, video) to ensure smooth cross-discipline production workflows.
Creative Standards & Best Practices
Serve as the team's resident expert on design best practices, emerging tools, and the intersection of art direction and production efficiency.
Document and champion repeatable creative standards across formats, channels, and use cases.
Partner with the Creative Director to uphold and evolve brand creative standards as the brand grows and scales.
AI & Tool Innovation
Lead the design team's adoption of AI-powered design tools and production technologies, helping the team work smarter and faster without sacrificing creative quality.
Stay current on emerging creative technologies and proactively recommend tools and workflows that increase team capacity or output quality.
8+ years of experience in design, art direction, or creative production, with at least 2-3 years in a people management role leading designers.
Strong art direction instincts and a clear point of view on what makes design work well, across both brand expression and production quality.
Proven experience building and maintaining scalable brand template systems, asset libraries, and design enablement resources.
Deep fluency in design and production tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, DAM systems) and a track record of improving team workflow through tool and process optimization.
Strong organizational and operational skills, with experience managing multi-project design operations in a high-volume environment.
Experience working within a larger creative function, including collaboration with copywriting and video leads.
Clear and direct communicator who can translate creative feedback effectively and align stakeholders to design decisions.
Familiarity with AI-powered design and production tools, with a curiosity about how emerging technology can improve creative operations.
