Salary/Hourly Rate: $126k - $165k Annually
Position Overview: The
Senior Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing facility operating around the clock. This leadership role is responsible for driving maintenance excellence, improving equipment reliability, enhancing safety performance, developing maintenance personnel, and supporting production objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities of the Senior Maintenance Manager:- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel while fostering a strong safety-first culture.
- Direct all maintenance activities supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including production equipment, utilities, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Establish and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate closely with Production leadership to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational goals.
- Manage maintenance planning and scheduling processes to ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Monitor and optimize maintenance budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Develop training, safety, and employee development programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Lead root cause investigations related to equipment failures and operational issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Track maintenance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements.
- Oversee facility utilities, infrastructure systems, and related support services.
- Partner with Human Resources and leadership teams on hiring, performance management, succession planning, and employee relations matters.
- Support labor relations initiatives and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Maintenance Manager:- Minimum of 10 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of equipment reliability programs and maintenance best practices.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience conducting failure analysis and driving corrective action initiatives.
- Working knowledge of industrial safety programs and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience managing capital projects and maintenance-related initiatives from planning through execution.
- Knowledge of maintenance repair procedures, installation standards, codes, and specifications.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Maintenance Manager:- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, SMED, and Autonomous Maintenance programs.
- Experience overseeing maintenance storeroom operations and inventory management.
- Background in utilities, plant infrastructure, and facility management.
- Experience in highly regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with unionized workforce environments.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Preferred disciplines include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
