Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This leadership role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery while developing and supporting a high-performing production team.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to motivate employees while meeting production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop production employees to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved.
- Plan and coordinate daily production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Enforce company safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
- Lead and sustain Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor production metrics including quality, productivity, inventory, and on-time delivery.
- Assign labor and resources to meet production demands.
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules.
- Ensure products meet quality specifications and manufacturing standards.
- Identify and resolve production issues while implementing corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, Kaizen events, and process optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production Control, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to support manufacturing objectives.
- Maintain accurate production records, employee timekeeping, and performance metrics.
- Interview, onboard, train, and develop production personnel.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Support inventory management, material planning, and production reporting.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production operations, scheduling, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience leading teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make sound operational decisions.
Preferred
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with workforce development, coaching, and employee performance management.
- Knowledge of inventory control and production planning.
