 The Building People, LLC seeks a Senior Logistics Specialist to serve as a liaison between the customer, supplier, and the government's Property and Logistics Division (PLD) to meet and support local logistics needs. The Senior Logistics Specialist applies practical knowledge of systems design, familiarity with specifications, and understanding of maintenance requirements to identify potential support problems and design deficiencies that would inhibit effective logistics support. This role requires continuing contact with contractors, design personnel, maintenance staff, personnel in other agencies, and headquarters staff to coordinate efforts to satisfy support needs. The Senior Logistics Specialist develops, analyzes, and maintains management information including reports and automated data that serve as the basis for decisions concerning the use of and support provided to the government.
 

Required Experience & Skills

    • At least four (4) years of work experience in logistics support, supply chain management, or integrated support services, with demonstrated experience in at least three (3) logistics functional areas
    • Practical knowledge of systems design and an understanding of maintenance requirements sufficient to identify potential support problems and design deficiencies
    • Experience developing, analyzing, and maintaining management information and reports to support operational decision-making
    • Ability to serve as the focal point within assigned areas of responsibility for immediate information and expertise on logistics support problems and requirements
    • Experience coordinating with contractors, design personnel, maintenance staff, other agencies, and headquarters staff to satisfy logistics support needs
    • Valid driver's license
    • All personnel must obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Level 3) security clearance.

     

    Preferred Experience & Skills 

    • Experience serving in a senior logistics or integrated support role within a federal government agency or law enforcement environment
    • Familiarity with government asset management systems and reporting requirements
    • Experience developing and maintaining logistics management information systems, automated data reporting, and operational metrics

     

    Required Education

    • Associate's degree; or 100 hours of formal logistics training; or certification from a professional logistics organization; or four (4) years of work experience in at least three (3) relevant logistics or property management functional areas; or an equivalent combination of the above

     

    Preferred Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent
