The Senior Loan Officer is responsible for developing complex lending relationships while managing a portfolio of high-value agricultural and commercial customers. This role provides financing expertise, manages more advanced customer relationships, supports portfolio growth and retention, and serves as a trusted advisor to customers. A strong understanding of agricultural lending and commercial credit is essential.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 30- 40 customer relationships within the assigned territory or market.
• Focus on developing and maintaining new and existing customer relationships with aggregate balances greater than $1 million and/or long-standing ARM customer relationships.
• Attract, retain, and manage strategic, complex, and high-value customer relationships that are not assigned to an Area Manager.
• As Area Manager portfolios grow, assume responsibility for transitioned customer relationships to ensure continuity of service and ongoing relationship management.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day relationship manager for assigned customer accounts.
• Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, strengthen relationships, and identify additional financing or service needs.
• Drive annual renewal activities, including pricing discussions, term negotiations, and coordination of required documentation.
• Partner with Credit, Operations, and other internal departments to facilitate seamless renewals, issue resolution, and exceptional customer service.
• Monitor portfolio performance, customer utilization trends, and potential risk indicators, escalating concerns when appropriate.
• Coordinate the timely collection of financial statements, reporting requirements, and other required customer documentation.
• Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline activity, forecasts, and relationship updates within HubSpot CRM.
• Participate in Regional Meetings by providing pipeline updates, portfolio status, and closing forecasts.
• Support customer retention initiatives by proactively addressing customer concerns and identifying opportunities to strengthen existing relationships.
• Assist customers with onboarding and effective utilization of the ARM customer portal and its functionality.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Strong agriculture background with business development experiences a must

• 3-5+ years of experience of credit and underwriting.
• Leadership experience a plus, but not required
• Ability to build relationships to promote loan volume and credit quality.
• Must be self-motivating and driven.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with loan documentation.
