A well-established Midwest insurance defense firm is seeking a senior Transportation Litigation Attorney to join its Chicago office.This search is focused on experienced litigators with approximately 7–8+ years of experience who are capable of independently managing sophisticated transportation matters while also serving as a mentor to junior attorneys.The Chicago office is the firm's largest, with more than 70 attorneys and a nationally recognized transportation practice .The firm moves efficiently and is typically able to take candidates from an initial conversation to a hiring decision within approximately two weeks.Practice FocusTransportation & trucking litigationCatastrophic injuryProduct liabilityComplex civil litigationResponsibilitiesIndependently manage complex transportation litigation matters from inception through resolutionDraft and argue dispositive motionsTake and defend depositionsHandle hearings, mediations and trial preparationDevelop litigation strategy and advise clients on high-exposure mattersMentor and supervise junior associatesWork directly with clients, insurance carriers and claims professionalsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolApproximately 7–8+ years of litigation experienceTransportation/trucking litigation experience strongly preferredProduct liability and construction litigation experience are a plusProven ability to independently manage complex filesExperience mentoring junior attorneysAttorneys who have handled both plaintiff and defense work are welcome to apply, provided their most recent experience has been on the defense side.
