Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead Engineer – Ignition / SCADA with strong expertise in Ignition 8.1, Siemens PLCs, industrial automation, and control systems. The candidate will lead solution architecture, hands-on development, controls integration, and technical delivery for manufacturing environments.
Must-Have Skills
· Siemens PLC Architect with hands-on experience across various Siemens PLC versions.
· Strong experience with web-based HMI/SCADA and control systems.
· Hands-on experience with tension control, speed control, feedback loops, drive configuration, and tuning.
· Extensive hands-on experience with Ignition 8.1 / SCADA.
· Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, OPC UA, industrial networks, and controls integration.
· Experience integrating Siemens PLCs with Ignition/SCADA systems.
· Strong troubleshooting and commissioning experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and architect scalable Ignition 8.1 / SCADA solutions.
· Lead PLC, SCADA, HMI, drives, and plant-floor system integration.
· Develop and configure Ignition Perspective, Vision, Tags, UDTs, Alarming, Historian, Reporting, and scripting.
· Configure and tune drives, speed/tension controls, feedback loops, and motion/control systems.
· Integrate PLCs with OPC UA, databases, MES, ERP, and enterprise systems.
· Troubleshoot controls, SCADA, communication, and application issues.
· Provide technical leadership, mentoring, documentation, and customer/vendor coordination.
· Support deployment and commissioning of manufacturing automation solutions.
Required Qualifications
· 10+ years in industrial automation, SCADA, controls, or manufacturing systems.
· Strong hands-on Ignition 8.1 experience.
· Expert-level Siemens PLC architecture and programming experience.
· Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and multiple PLC generations/versions.
· Strong understanding of industrial control systems, drives, feedback loops, and tuning.
· Experience with OPC UA, MQTT, SQL, Python/Jython, and industrial communication protocols.
· Strong communication, troubleshooting, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred
· Manufacturing/industrial automation experience.
· MES/IIoT and Industry 4.0 experience.
· Experience with ISA-95/ISA-88.
· Ignition certification.
· Multi-site or enterprise SCADA deployments.
