JOB DESCRIPTION

Everforth Apex Systems is searching for a skilled Cloud Architecture professional with excellent consultative abilities to assume the position of a Sr. Lead Consultant within our Cloud & Infrastructure practice. This individual will serve in a strategic role at Apex, collaborating with internal and client project teams to offer direction in designing, implementing, and supporting our Cloud Architecture capability and service offerings. The consultant will also provide technical support for Apex sales, solution management, and account teams during the scoping of new Cloud & Infrastructure based opportunities.

• Produce high quality deliverables, meet project deadlines, and take responsibility for engagement and team success.

• Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
• Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
• Collaborate internally with Everforth Apex Account Teams, Solution Leaders, Industry Leaders, Practice Leaders, and others to develop Everforth Apex Solutions Delivery Services business.
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
• Build strong client, industry, and internal relationships and represent Apex Systems as a leader within Industry and Professional events and communities. Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
• Lead team members and direct reports to Lead the development, growth, and success of your team, developing professionals for the next stage of their careers.
• This role may be responsible for managing hybrid project teams consisting of Everforth Apex Contract Employees, Internal Everforth Apex employees, client employees and external vendors.
• Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices.
• Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value.
• Cloud Strategy & Architecture

o Design secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective cloud solutions primarily within AWS.

o Lead cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives for enterprise clients.

o Develop cloud roadmaps, landing zones, governance models, and reference architecture.

o Conduct cloud assessments, Well-Architected Reviews, and cloud maturity evaluations.

o Define solutions that align business objectives, security requirements, and operational best practices.

• Consulting & Client Leadership

o Serve as a trusted advisor to technical and executive stakeholders.

o Lead architecture workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design engagements.

o Support business development efforts through solutioning, estimation, proposal development, and SOW creation.

o Present technical recommendations and guide clients through architectural tradeoffs and decisionmaking.

• Delivery & Technical Leadership

o Provide architectural oversight and technical leadership throughout project execution.

o Mentor engineers, consultants, and junior architects.

o Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions.

o Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Cloud Operations & Automation

o Promote Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud-native best practices.

o Design CI/CD and platform engineering solutions that improve operational efficiency.

o Implement cloud security, monitoring, governance, and cost optimization strategies.

o Support hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architectures where appropriate.

ON-SITE WORK EXPECTATIONS (US & CANADA)

As a consulting position, the work location for this role varies according to client needs. Accordingly, this is not a remote position. While some assignments may be performed largely remotely, other assignments require fully on-site work, hybrid work, and/or occasional travel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years designing and delivering AWS cloud solutions.
• Experience leading enterprise cloud migration and modernization programs.
• Prior consulting or client-facing experience.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
• AWS Certified Security - Specialty
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate
• Experience conducting Well-Architected Reviews and cloud assessments.
• Exposure to platform engineering, FinOps, and cloud governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI/ML cloud services such as AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure AI, or Vertex AI.
