    Senior/Lead Application Administrator, Departmental Systems

    Office of Information Technology

    The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a skilled Application Administrator to join the OIT Departmental Systems team. This position will be filled at either the Senior Application Administrator (Grade 10) or Lead Application Administrator (Grade 11) level, depending on the finalist's depth of qualifications, technical expertise, and relevant experience.

    Senior Application Administrator (Grade 10)

    This position directly supports the technology needs of IT applications across a wide range of divisions and departments, including but not limited to Dining Services, Campus Life, Auxiliary services (Bookstore, Mailroom, Transportation), the Brown Card Office, and the Brown Arts Institute. This position is responsible to ensure that IT applications meet the ongoing needs of all operational aspects in their respective areas.

    The Senior Application Administrator will support all computing applications used throughout our broad customer base. The Senior Application Administrator will support all of these applications in a variety of ways, including application configuration, vendor technical support, contractual support, and performing Data Security Reviews. The Senior Application Administrator will participate in and support all upgrades, application and security patches, etc. and will coordinate all aspects of testing, documentation, and training of end users. The position will participate in cross training with fellow team members to ensure the team has adequate backup for all applications supported.

    The Senior Application Administrator will be a liaison into OIT, working with the ITSC team, Network and Comm Ops teams, ISG, and any other teams as needed. This role will also partner with Athletics leaderships regarding technology planning, budgeting, and evaluation of new applications.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree preferred

    3+ years of IT related experience including enterprise-level business application support or administration.

    The following experience is preferred:

    Administration of Public Safety or Enterprise Applications & Systems

    Security Systems Application Administration

    SQL Queries; including writing queries and joining databases

    SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services); writing reports & supporting SSRS

    Active Directory Security Group Administration

    Group Policy Administration

    Lead experience preferred

    The following application support or administration experience or equivalent is preferred:

    Software House - CCURE9000

    VMS Systems such as Genetec Security Center

    Central Square IMC

    NICE 911 Recording Suite

    Zetron Communication Solution

    SQL Server Reporting Services

    Wowza Media Service & TheoPlayer Cloud

    The following certifications preferred:

    Software House - CCURE9000 Certified

    Genetec - Genetec Security Center Certified

    Strong application support/administration abilities to troubleshoot, support, and maintain critical application suites/software components supporting a 24x7 operation.

    Strong problem solving skills, organizational skills, and project planning skills

    Working knowledge of databases and SQL Queries

    Troubleshooting skills for problem resolution

    Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

    Knowledge of IT change management processes

    Excellent customer service skills; strong commitment to customer service

    Strong computing, analytical, and organizational skills

    Ability to work effectively in a group and as a member of a project team

    Excellent coordination, collaboration, writing, and verbal communication skills

    Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities

    Ability to work through problems and find solutions

    Experience with Google Suite

    Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications

    Higher education experience preferred

    Lead Application Administrator, Departmental Systems (Grade 11)

    This position directly supports the technology needs of the customer base for Departmental Systems. It will primarily focus on the Division of Athletics and the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Management, but will help to support the various other departments and divisions supported by Departmental Systems.

    The Lead Application Administrator will support all computing applications used throughout our customer base. This position will support software apps used by Athletics including enterprise level apps like TeamWorks, that includes NCAA compliance management, University Ticketing for selling tickets to sporting events, and Fusion for managing recreational sports. Additionally this position supports many sport-specific applications with unique needs. The Lead Application Administrator will support all of these applications in a variety of ways, including application configuration, vendor technical support, hardware needs except for PCI related equipment, contractual support, and performing Data Security Reviews. The Lead Application Administrator will participate in and support all upgrades, application and security patches, etc. and will coordinate all aspects of testing, documentation, and training of end users. The position will participate in cross training with fellow team members to ensure the team has adequate backup for all applications supported.

    The Lead Application Administrator will be a liaison into OIT, working with many OIT teams including ITSCs, Network, Comm Ops, ISG, Systems, and any other teams as needed. This role will also partner with customer leadership regarding technology planning, budgeting, and evaluation of new applications.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    • 7 years of IT related experience

    • Experience with enterprise-level business application support or administration preferred

    The following experience is preferred:

    • SQL Queries; including writing queries and joining databases

    • Active Directory Security Group Administration

    • Group Policy Administration

    The following application support or administration experience or equivalent is preferred: Athletics enterprise apps; Athletics compliance, Recreational sports management, ticket sales applications

    • Strong application support/administration abilities to troubleshoot, support, and maintain critical application suites/software components supporting a 24x7 operation.

    • Working knowledge of databases and SQL Queries
