As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's growth strategy within the Olink (PSX) division, the Senior Manager, Global Strategic Pharma will serve as a key commercial and strategic leader responsible for developing and expanding relationships with global pharmaceutical organizations.

This is a senior overlay role within a highly matrixed organization, working across field sales, application scientists, and global strategy teams to drive enterprise-level engagement, scientific partnership, and revenue growth. The role requires strong scientific acumen, executive presence, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

Position Summary (Key Responsibilities)

Global Strategic Account Leadership

  • Lead commercial strategy and business development across a defined set of global pharmaceutical accounts
  • Develop and execute account plans, mapping, and engagement strategies across complex, multi-functional customer organizations
  • Identify, shape, and close large-scale, multi-year opportunities aligned with Olink's proteomics and biomarker discovery solutions
  • Drive revenue growth by aligning global account strategy with regional execution teams

Matrix Leadership & Overlay Function

  • Act as a central orchestrator across field sales, application support, and global teams to ensure coordinated account engagement
  • Influence internal stakeholders without direct reporting authority to align on priorities, messaging, and execution
  • Partner closely with commercial, medical/scientific, and product teams to translate customer needs into business opportunities

Scientific & Strategic Engagement

  • Deliver high-level scientific and strategic presentations to global pharma stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Provide guidance on study design, biomarker strategy, and proteomics applications
  • Position Olink as a strategic partner by understanding customer pipelines, therapeutic focus areas, and decision drivers

Business Development & Opportunity Creation

  • Proactively identify and develop new opportunities within existing global pharma relationships
  • Navigate complex procurement and decision-making processes within large organizations
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)

Field Enablement, Training & Mentorship

  • Train, mentor, and upskill field sales teams on:

  • Global pharma account dynamics and stakeholder mapping

  • Effective engagement strategies with enterprise-level customers

  • Scientific positioning and value-based selling of Olink solutions

  • Act as a subject matter expert and coach, improving field effectiveness in high-value interactions

  • Support joint customer meetings and help elevate strategic conversations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and R&D to communicate market trends, customer insights, and unmet needs
  • Collaborate with project management and operations to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in biotech/pharma. Strong commercial roles, including strategic accounts or key account management strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing global or enterprise-level pharmaceutical accounts
  • Experience operating in a matrixed organization with overlay responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of proteomics, biomarker discovery, or translational research (preferred)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to simplify complex scientific concepts
  • Comfortable engaging in deep scientific discussions with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $144,000.00-$192,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
