Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and React.js to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building modern full stack solutions, developing RESTful APIs and microservices, and working within Agile delivery environments.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, drive best practices in software development, and contribute to the delivery of high quality, business critical applications. The position also offers opportunities to work on innovative AI driven initiatives, including chatbot and Generative AI solutions.

About the Role

As a Senior Java Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for the end to end development of enterprise applications, leveraging Java and Spring Boot for backend services and React.js for modern user interfaces. You will build and integrate REST APIs and microservices, troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize application performance, and ensure adherence to software engineering best practices.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, onsite teams, and offshore development teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, cloud technologies, CI/CD practices, and containerized deployments. Experience with AI Chatbots, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP will be highly valued.

In This Role, You Will

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and related technologies.
• Build, enhance, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical applications.
• Perform hands-on coding, debugging, testing, code reviews, and application performance optimization.
• Provide technical guidance to offshore development teams by resolving technical challenges and supporting successful delivery.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow best practices for code quality, security, testing, and software development lifecycle processes.
• Contribute to AI chatbot and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) initiatives when applicable.

Work Model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role''s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote at a client or Cognizant office in one of the following locations:

• Basking Ridge, New Jersey

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full stack application development with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java application development using Spring Boot.
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications with React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and code quality standards.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Ability to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with onsite and offshore teams.
• Experience implementing AI Chatbots and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical discussions.
