Senior Java Data Engineer

This role partners with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable solutions across Java, Oracle, and Hadoop-based platforms while driving strategic analysis and successful delivery. Lead functional analysis, stakeholder workshops, and design deep dives while communicating complex data concepts to business and technical audiences.

Duration: 6+ months
Location: On-site 3 days/week in Jersey City, NJ

Join a technology team supporting Capital, Liquidity, Funding, and Forecasting platforms within a financial services environment. This role partners with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable solutions across Java, Oracle, and Hadoop-based platforms while driving strategic analysis and successful delivery.
Requirements:

• 12+ years of Java software development experience.
• Hands-on expertise with Java, Oracle, and Hadoop technology stack.
• Working knowledge of Capital, Liquidity, and Funding systems.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for strategic forecasting and regulatory reporting initiatives.
• Partner with technology teams to design solutions across Java, Oracle, and Hadoop platforms.
• Develop functional specifications, use cases, and acceptance criteria to support QA and engineering teams.
• Perform UI debugging, API testing, and functional validation throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Support Baseline Stress Projection model execution and reporting for strategic planning initiatives.
• Lead functional analysis, stakeholder workshops, and design deep dives while communicating complex data concepts to business and technical audiences.
