Sonatus is seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Systems Engineer to architect and scale our global infrastructure. As a key technical lead, you will move beyond traditional support to build a programmatic, automation-first IT environment, with a heavy focus on API-driven integrations and seamless user lifecycle management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives on connecting disparate systems like our HRIS, IdP, and ERP platforms to create a friction-free, self-service experience for a global workforce. We are looking for a meticulous, systems-thinking professional who can balance complex project work with the day-to-day management of our global lab and network operations.

You will report to the Manager of IT Systems Administrations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain end-to-end user lifecycle workflows by integrating our HRIS, IdP, and core applications (D365, BambooHR, Expensify, Google Workspace, JumpCloud) via REST APIs and automation to drive a seamless, self-service IT model. • Collaborate closely with the Global IT Manager to prioritize high-impact automation projects, ensuring that architectural improvements and systemic fixes take precedence over manual maintenance. • Own the global lab and asset management lifecycle, ensuring hardware inventory is tracked, maintained, and optimized across all regions. • Build and deploy internal tooling and scripts to automate daily IT operations, reducing manual overhead and improving response times for global teams. • Administer the global MDM and IdP stack (JumpCloud) to secure the device fleet and manage granular user access controls. • Participate in global change and configuration management processes to ensure consistency across production and lab environments. • Maintain comprehensive documentation for lab processes, asset management records, system configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines. • Proactively analyze system and network metrics to identify bottlenecks, optimize resources, and prevent downtime.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related IT technical field is required.

7-10 years of progressive experience in IT systems or operations engineering.

Hands-on experience with API integrations (Python or similar) and managing global identity stacks.

Proven track record of automating user provisioning/deprovisioning between HRIS and IdP platforms.

Demonstrated experience with configuration management systems and scripting to build self-service IT tools.

Hands-on experience with Identity Provider (IdP) solutions including SAML, SCIM, LDAP, and RADIUS.

Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively, handle assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Team player, resourceful, able to work under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication; and presentation skills.
