At Vise, we're building the future of investment management-powered by technology and driven by advisor needs. As a Senior Investment Strategist, you will play a key role in shaping our investment research, portfolio design, and platform capabilities. Reporting directly to the Co-CIO and working closely with our investment and product teams, you'll lead research initiatives, design innovative portfolio strategies, and translate complex investment ideas into scalable, technology-driven solutions.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical, market-savvy investment professional who excels at solving complex problems, developing differentiated strategies, and driving thought leadership. You'll focus primarily on research, portfolio design, and the strategic frameworks that underpin our investment approach-while also collaborating cross-functionally to bring these ideas to life on the Vise platform. While this is a research-forward role, a client-first mindset is essential; you must be equally comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders and engaging with advisors when needed to ensure our solutions meet their evolving needs.
What you bring on day one:
Experience
5+ years of experience in investment research, portfolio strategy, or asset management
Expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk modeling, or security selection
Familiarity with advanced portfolio techniques such as direct indexing, tax optimization, factor investing, and systematic strategies
Demonstrated success in developing and scaling investment frameworks or productized solutions
Proficiency in Python and SQL to support research workflows, performance analysis, and custom data modeling
Bloomberg fluency and experience with portfolio analytics platforms
Experience working with product and engineering teams to build investment solutions into digital platforms
Experience authoring investment research and/or white papers, or marketing commentary
Examples of research, frameworks, or tools you have built from the ground up
Personal attributes
Insatiable intellectual curiosity, particularly around financial markets, portfolio strategy, and the evolving needs of RIAs and their clients
Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail by rigorously reviewing and quality-checking not only your own work but also cross-functional deliverables, ensuring all investment outputs, platform features, and client-facing materials meet the highest standards of accuracy and consistency.
Highly analytical with a strong foundation in capital markets and portfolio theory
Self-motivated and outcome-driven, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from ideation to execution
Comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Able to clearly articulate complex investment concepts in writing or visuals for internal and external stakeholders
Driven by the opportunity to tackle novel challenges and advance the frontiers of portfolio construction and advisor-focused technology.
Comfortable operating in a performance-oriented culture with occasional off-hours work to meet key deadlines

About Vise
Vise is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered asset management platform designed specifically for financial advisors to build, manage and explain personalized portfolios. In today's world, AI is driving personalization across various industries, enhancing the way we shop, consume content, and engage with technology. Embracing this trend, Vise is leading the charge to bring this level of personalization to how we invest. Vise ushers in Wealth 3.0, moving beyond mutual funds and ETFs to offer personalized and automated portfolios. By harnessing the power of AI, Vise enables financial advisors to create tailored investment strategies that cater to each client's unique financial needs and goals.
Financial advisors are at the heart of this transformation, as their relationships with clients are essential to understanding and meeting each client's unique financial needs. With Vise, advisors can focus on nurturing these relationships instead of spending time building and managing portfolios. Our platform empowers advisors to create institutional-grade, personalized portfolios, automate their management, and explain valuable insights that enhance their expertise and service to clients. Vise is the outsourced sub-advisor, doing trading, rebalancing, and managing client portfolios fully automated on the advisor's behalf; Vise charges an AUM fee for its services.
Our exceptional New York team comprises world-class Ph.D. quants, investment researchers, and engineers with experience at industry-leading firms like Citadel, Blackrock, Stripe, and Stanford. Combining top financial and engineering talent, we pride ourselves on delivering products faster and understanding our customers' needs better than anyone else in the market. Vise has garnered the support of prominent venture capital firms, raising over $130M from Sequoia Capital and Founders Fund, among others.
