Our client, located in the Greenway Plaza area, is a highly respected private investment organization, is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a sophisticated investment environment supporting a diversified portfolio while partnering closely with finance and investment professionals.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys investment accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement within a collaborative and high-performing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accounting and reconciliation activities for a diversified investment portfolio.
Prepare recurring financial and investment reporting for senior leadership.
Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Research and resolve complex investment transactions and accounting issues.
Analyze investment activity, cash flows, and account variances.
Assist with forecasting and cash planning activities.
Support annual financial statement audits and related documentation.
Assist with budgeting and financial analysis.
Partner with internal stakeholders to improve reporting processes and operational efficiencies.
Support special projects and other finance initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
35 years of accounting experience, preferably within investments, financial services, public accounting, or a corporate finance environment.
Experience with investment accounting is preferred.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or financial reporting systems.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
