Weston Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to serve as the day-to-day steward of consistent, strategy-aligned messaging across the enterprise. This role ensures that all leader updates, employee announcements, change initiative, and culture story reinforces the same strategic direction, priorities, and voice helping our employee-owners understand where Weston is going and how their work connects to that journey.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who thinks strategically and executes exceptionally well. You will own Weston's internal narrative and messaging frameworks, translate strategy into language employees can act on, partner with leaders to communicate with clarity and one voice, and bring stronger planning discipline to how information moves across the organization. You will collaborate closely with Marketing & Communications, HR/Talent Acquisition, Operations, IT, and business teams.

Expected Outcomes:

Enterprise Narrative & Message Consistency

  • Own Weston's internal narrative, the core set of strategic messages, priorities, and proof points that every leader, channel, and campaign reinforces.
  • Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and review workflows that keep tone, terminology, and strategic emphasis consistent across all internal communications.
  • Translate Weston's strategy, ESOP identity, technical impact, and AI-enabled evolution into clear, employee-centered language.
  • Audit messaging across newsletters, town halls, intranet, leader updates, and change communications to eliminate mixed or conflicting messages.
  • Help employees see how their work connects to Weston's strategic direction, clients, communities, and future.

Communications Planning & Channel Execution

  • Develop and maintain Weston's internal communications calendar, cadence, and channel plan in partnership with Marketing & Communications leadership.
  • Write, edit, and distribute employee-centered content including newsletters, intranet/SharePoint updates, leadership messages, employee announcements, and town hall materials.
  • Recommend audience segmentation, timing, and channel strategy, reducing reactive, one-off communications in favor of a coordinated, planned approach.

Executive & Leadership Communications

  • Draft and refine leader messages, talking points, presentation narratives, video scripts, and town hall content that ladder up to Weston's strategic narrative.
  • Advise leaders on messaging structure, tone, and employee-centered framing so leadership communications reflect one consistent strategic voice.
  • Support leadership visibility through recurring updates, recognition moments, and internal storytelling opportunities.

Change, Transformation & AI Enablement Communications

  • Develop communications plans and supporting materials such as FAQs, leader talking points, employee toolkits, and reinforcement messages for organizational updates, process changes, system rollouts, and AI enablement.
  • Translate complex operational, technical, digital, or AI-related topics into plain-language communications that connect changes to Weston's strategic direction.
  • Partner with project owners to clarify audiences, key messages, timing, communication risks, and follow-up needs; gather employee questions and feedback to identify gaps.

Employee Storytelling, Engagement & Measurement

  • Partner with HR/Talent Acquisition, SMEs, technical leaders, and project teams to surface stories that reflect Weston's ESOP culture, technical excellence, safety commitment, and mission-driven work.
  • Support employer brand and culture content that reinforces the same strategic narrative used across internal channels.
  • Track performance using open/click rates, intranet engagement, town hall participation, employee feedback, and message recall; use data to strengthen message clarity, consistency, timing, and leader enablement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 10 years of experience in internal, employee, corporate, change, and/or executive communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations, Organizational Development, or related field and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to develop enterprise messaging frameworks and maintain consistency of message across leaders, campaigns, and channels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and message-development skills, including translating complex business, technical, or operational topics into clear employee communications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organizational change, strategic initiatives, and executive/leadership communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across HR, Operations, IT, and business teams with the ability to synthesize input and make practical messaging recommendations.
  • Experience managing internal channels: newsletters, intranet/SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, town halls, Viva Engage/Yammer, email platforms, and CMS tools.
  • Strong project management, editorial planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly for drafting, research, and workflow efficiency while maintaining editorial quality and confidentiality.
  • Basic design judgment, video scripting, or visual storytelling capability.
  • Familiarity with change management or communications planning frameworks.
  • Preferred experience in AEC, environmental consulting, engineering, government contracting, or another complex technical B2B environment.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $64,821 - $85,521 - $105,909
