Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience in commercial workplace interiors to join their New York team. This position is focused on interior architecture and workplace design, requiring a strong technical and design background in built commercial interior projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading projects from programming through construction administration, developing workplace strategies, and producing high-quality construction documentation for sophisticated office environments.
Responsibilities:
Lead commercial workplace interior design projects from programming through construction administration
Develop space plans, test fits, and design concepts for workplace environments
Guide design direction and evaluate solutions based on client goals and project requirements
Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, and interior systems
Produce and oversee construction documentation including plans, elevations, and detailed drawings
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams throughout all project phases
Support strategic project execution while maintaining high standards of design and technical excellence
Participate in workplace strategy discussions and research emerging industry trends
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture, preferably workplace interiors
Strong experience producing construction documents and detailing
Proficiency in AutoCAD required
Proficiency in Revit required
Experience with Revit-based 3D modeling and rendering workflows such as Enscape or similar platforms
Experience working on built commercial interior projects, not solely conceptual design work
Strong hand sketching and conceptual visualization abilities
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
Excellent presentation, communication, and project coordination skills
Strong understanding of workplace planning and commercial interior detailing
Preferred Qualifications:
