Description

Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Lead the review and development of comprehensive, innovative design solutions for H Mart's commercial and retail projects
  • Independently prepare, review, and manage full interior design packages, ensuring cohesive integration of finish materials, furniture, lighting, and signage
  • Oversee and draft building exterior designs and exterior signage elements to ensure a unified brand presence
  • Prepare, revise, and manage detailed construction drawing sets, navigating complex project requirements and A/MEP coordination
  • Proactively identify design and structural issues, adapting drawings and design elements based on changing site conditions, consultant feedback, and evolving internal directions
  • Act as the central design liaison, communicating seamlessly with internal teams, external vendors, design consultants, architects of record, and General Contractors (GCs)
  • Participate actively in critical project meetings, design reviews, site visits, and construction coordination meetings across various locations
  • Elevate the design team's capabilities by reviewing the work of junior designers, providing clear, practical feedback, and guiding them through complex design problem-solving

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field
  • 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in interior design, architecture, commercial space design, or retail design
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD and industry-standard 3D design software
  • Proven ability to independently prepare and rigorously review complete interior drawing packages and precise detail drawings  
  • Ability to travel within the United States as project needs dictate (no disqualifying reasons for domestic travel)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is highly preferred
