Senior Integration Specialist - Req Download
Engineering | Hybrid — New York, Washington DC, or Austin, TX preferred, Remote considered | Full-Time
Company & Role Overview
• Our client is a fully funded AI startup building an end-to-end decision-intelligence platform, delivering quantitative, low-latency judgments on complex political, economic, and military events for customers across finance, national security, and other industries.
• Founded by seasoned leaders with backgrounds at Google, Meta, Client, Cerberus Capital, and US intelligence.
• This is a senior, customer-facing integration and architecture role. You will embed directly with client engineering teams to connect their proprietary data into our client's LLM inference pipeline, and be a key technical voice in how those integrations are designed.
• Hybrid role based out of New York, Washington DC, or Austin, TX, working alongside a globally distributed engineering team.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Lead technical discovery with new and existing customers to define integration architecture, understanding their data schemas, tech stack, and security and compliance requirements.
• Architect and help build secure, conditional pathways for customers to bring their own proprietary data, held in their own enclave, Postgres instance, or vector store, into our client's LLM pipeline at runtime.
• Design and implement large-scale, custom SaaS integrations connecting customer environments into our client's core platform.
• Own the full API integration lifecycle: designing, building, and validating that APIs serve customer-specific specifications reliably.
• Structure and expose customer data through API and microservices layers, with hands-on data engineering work as needed.
• Serve as a key technical voice in architecture decisions, working directly with customer engineering leadership, including customer CTOs, alongside our client's internal architecture team.
• Join customer-facing conversations directly, speaking with authority about the platform's LLM capabilities and how specific features solve real customer problems.
• Move fluidly between discovery and spec work and hands-on execution as integrations progress from design to production.
Skills & Requirements Required
• 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale SaaS integrations, ideally into custom or bespoke enterprise environments.
• Experience working with or alongside large enterprise organizations in an integration, implementation, or solutions engineering capacity.
• Background in a regulated industry, financial services, banking, healthcare, insurance, or similarly compliance-sensitive environments, working with regulated or sensitive data sets.
• Strong backend experience with API design, microservices architecture, and full-cycle API integration work.
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform; comfort across AWS and Azure is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern data infrastructure: Postgres, vector databases, and LLM data pipelines.
Strongly preferred
• Direct or adjacent experience with LLM-based systems. This can include data engineering or ETL work that feeds LLM pipelines; deep production LLM tenure is not required given how young the field is.
• Experience with FastAPI (Python) backends and React/TypeScript/Next.js front ends.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal.
• Prior experience at a later-stage startup (Series B or beyond), comfortable wearing multiple hats.
• Genuine interest in political, geopolitical, or economic events, and the ability to speak credibly and with authority about how AI tools solve decision-making problems in these domains.
• A demonstrated ownership mindset: comfortable driving a project through ambiguity without waiting for direction.
• Fluency with AI-assisted coding tools, able to move quickly in a fast-paced, prototyping-heavy environment.
