Senior Integration Engineer

IDR is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. In this role, you’ll design, build, and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and other enterprise platforms, focusing on API-driven connectivity and reliable automation. This is a hands-on engineering position within an enterprise environment where quality, observability, and disciplined integration practices are essential.

Position Overview for the Senior:

• Design, develop, and support API-driven integrations connecting Workday with enterprise systems and automation tools
• Build and troubleshoot integrations at the request/response level, including payload structure, authentication, and error handling
• Ensure integrations are deterministic, resilient, and production-ready with strong validation and logging practices
• Analyze integration issues across systems by reviewing data flow, business process behavior, and sequencing dependencies

Requirements for the Senior:

• 4+ years of hands-on Workday integration experience
• Strong experience with Workday REST APIs and Workday SOAP APIs (Web Services)
• Ability to manually construct and troubleshoot API requests/responses (beyond low-code or tool-only approaches)
• Strong XML skills, including namespaces and schema validation concepts
• Working knowledge of integration security/authentication patterns and enterprise integration best practices
