Senior Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Engineer
This is a highly visible, hands-on opportunity for a technical leader who thrives on solving complex infrastructure and cybersecurity challenges while helping modernize and strengthen an organization's technology environment. This role will play a key part in driving network, cloud, identity, and security initiatives across the enterprise.
This position is on-site in Racho Cordova
Core duties and responsibilities include:
- Own, administer, and optimize Cisco Meraki networking, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, and firewall environments.
- Manage and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, and Microsoft Defender platforms.
- Lead infrastructure, network modernization, and cybersecurity initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Administer identity and access management, including Conditional Access, RBAC, privileged access controls, and security governance.
- Drive vulnerability management, incident response, and ongoing security operations activities.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, networking, and security-related issues.
- Collaborate with technology vendors and support the transition of services from managed service providers (MSPs) to an internal IT model.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, system documentation, and operational procedures.
- Mentor team members, share technical expertise, and promote continuous improvement across IT operations.
Required skills and qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud-based identity management.
- Experience administering Microsoft Defender and security-focused Microsoft technologies.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networks, and firewalls.
- Experience supporting Cisco networking technologies, preferably Cisco Meraki environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to independently lead technical projects and enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, Cisco Umbrella, and Cisco Duo.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Azure.
- Experience transitioning services from an MSP-supported environment to an internally managed IT organization.
- Background in security operations, incident response, or SOC environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site organizations.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, CISM, Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, or Microsoft Security certifications.
Compensation
Base salary: $140,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
