Senior Industrial Engineer
Confidential Search | Western Chicago Suburbs | GMP-Regulated Manufacturing | Direct-Hire
Own the capital project road map for an established, privately-backed manufacturer investing seriously in its next phase of growth. A new production line is on the way. This seat is the one steering it.
What You'll Own
· Lead process and equipment design for new production lines, facility upgrades, and capital projects, from scoping through testing, validation, and startup.
· Partner directly with Operations, Quality, and EHS to keep every project on budget, on schedule, and audit-ready.
· Run time studies, capacity models, and line-balancing work to strip waste out of current operations using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
· Mentor technicians and operators on the floor. This role shapes how the plant runs, not just how it's designed on paper.
· Serve as lead project manager on a major incoming production line project and whatever capital work follows it.
What Gets You Hired
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Required, no exceptions.
· 3-5+ years of project or program management experience in a fast-paced, GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. Food, pharma, or nutraceutical background strongly preferred.
· PMP and/or Lean/Six Sigma credentials are a real plus. Leadership here is genuinely continuous-improvement-driven and rewards it.
· Comfortable being the only engineer in the room and owning your own workload without a large department behind you.
Compensation
$100,000-$115,000 base plus an annual target bonus.
