The Senior I&C CAD Designer is responsible for developing, revising, and maintaining 2D drawings and 3D instrumentation models for industrial engineering projects in the oil and gas, refining, midstream, petrochemical, and chemical sectors. The position emphasizes CAD production, drawing accuracy, model coordination, and schedule performance, with limited instrumentation design support under established engineering requirements.

Job Description

• Develop and revise I&C drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare instrument location plans, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation details.
• Create junction box termination drawings, control panel layouts, and cable schedules.
• Develop 3D models of instruments, supports, junction boxes, panels, and installation components.
• Interpret P&IDs, engineering sketches, redlines, and vendor documentation.
• Coordinate 3D models with piping, mechanical, structural, and electrical teams.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and resolve coordination issues.
• Maintain CAD standards, drawing numbering, and revision control.
• Verify instrument tags, terminal designations, cable references, and drawing consistency.
• Support remote design teams, field surveys, and as-built documentation.
• Complete CAD assignments within project schedules and budgets.

Skills Required

• Minimum 7 years of industrial I&C CAD drafting/design experience.
• Advanced AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
• Demonstrated industrial 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation, junction boxes, control panels, and wiring.
• Familiarity with ISA drawing conventions.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical engineering documentation.
• EPC industry experience preferred.
• AutoCAD 2D and some 3D preferred
• Experience with DCS, PLC, and SIS instrumentation installations preferred.
• Remote drafting coordination and field survey experience preferred.
• AutoCAD drawing automation experience preferred.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Associate degree in CAD, drafting, engineering technology, or equivalent industrial experience.
