Role Overview

The Senior HVAC Service Technician handles troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced commercial HVAC systems. The role demands solid technical ability, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work efficiently in fast-paced and challenging environments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnosis, repair, replacement, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems (chillers, air handlers, rooftop units, pumps, motors, controls, etc.).
  • Execute preventive maintenance inspections and document all findings and actions in a service management system.
  • Recommend repair versus replacement options, providing clear justification and cost implications to customers.
  • Model and enforce strict safety protocols, leading by example in safety practices on job sites.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, purchasing/procurement, and operations to ensure efficient job flow.
  • Mentor, support, and guide junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Represent the brand on-site, maintaining a professional demeanor, responding to complaints or escalations, and building client trust.
  • Accurately track parts usage, labor hours, and job progress, updating work orders and documentation.
  • Monitor recurring failures or field patterns, and suggest improvements in parts inventory, processes, or field standards.
  • Respond to emergency calls or after-hours service as needed.
  • Serve as a direct point of contact with customers during service calls, explaining issues, timelines, and solutions in plain language.

Required Background

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Minimum of 7 years of HVAC service experience.
  • EPA 608 Certification required, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Texas TDLR Registration required, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, VAVs, pumps, and controls.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Commercial HVAC service background required; residential and light commercial experience can be blended in.
  • Building automation systems (BAS) or controls experience a plus.
  • Military HVAC or mechanical maintenance background will be considered.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
