You don't need someone looking over your shoulder to figure out what's wrong. You know how to approach a service call, diagnose the issue, and explain the solution to a homeowner.

At Lamar Heat & Air, we're looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician who's ready to take ownership of their work, operate independently after onboarding, and build a career with opportunities for performance-based earnings.

This isn't an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with substantial service experience who can get in a van, run maintenance and diagnostic calls, and get the job done efficiently.

THE ROLE

As a Senior HVAC Service Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform HVAC maintenance and diagnostics.

Following onboarding, you'll be expected to independently handle assigned service calls, troubleshoot problems, and communicate findings and recommended solutions to customers.

Your day will include:

• Performing HVAC system maintenance and identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
• Diagnosing heating and cooling system failures and determining the root cause.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical HVAC components.
• Independently managing assigned service calls after onboarding.
• Explaining diagnostic findings and recommended repairs to homeowners.
• Identifying repair opportunities and communicating potential sales leads.
• Documenting completed maintenance, diagnostic findings, and recommended work.
• Maintaining professional service standards and safe work practices.

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

Starting Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

Future Performance Pay Opportunity

Lamar Heat & Air plans to transition this position to a performance-based compensation structure after the new year, once the technician has demonstrated sufficient proficiency to operate independently.

The transition will depend on readiness and the final compensation plan. Exact percentages and performance-pay terms will be confirmed during the hiring process.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an experienced service technician who knows how to diagnose problems, take ownership of service calls, and work confidently without constant supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on HVAC service experience.
• Current EPA certification.
• Current TDLR certification or applicable registration for HVAC service work.
• Strong experience performing HVAC maintenance and diagnostics.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.
• Ability to operate a service van and complete assigned service calls independently after onboarding.
• Strong problem-solving skills and professional customer communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience independently handling residential HVAC maintenance and diagnostic calls.
• Ability to explain repair recommendations clearly to homeowners.
• Experience identifying repair and sales lead opportunities.
• Strong time management and service documentation skills.
