    Description

Have you ever wanted to be part of a team building industry-changing technology? At Amazon Leo, we"re building a low Earth orbit satellite network that will deliver broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world - with customers like Delta Airlines, JetBlue, and AT&T already committed ahead of commercial launch. Behind that mission is a manufacturing operation scaling fast, and we need a senior HR leader on the ground to help our people keep pace.

We"re hiring a Senior Human Resources Partner (HRP) to be the face of HR at one of Leo"s Puget Sound manufacturing site clusters. This is a strategic L6 individual contributor role in the PXT (People eXperience and Technology) organization - part site strategist, part culture builder, part operational backbone.

You"ll own the people strategy for your sites end to end. That means shaping employee sentiment, strengthening manager capability, building out hourly HR infrastructure, and making sure floor coverage runs smoothly every day. You"ll partner closely with a pod of HRPs, serve as the go-to partner for site leadership, and turn org-wide priorities into actions employees actually feel. You"ll report to the Sr. HRP Manager while working in close strategic partnership with the Leo Production Operations Site HRP Manager to keep day-to-day operations aligned across your sites.

This role is about staying ahead, not reacting. You"ll spend time on the floor doing Gemba and floor walks, listening to employees, and using sentiment data to spot issues early and drive culture improvements that last. The right person leads through influence, not authority, and moves naturally between big-picture thinking and getting things done.

This is an on-site position based at SEA133 in Kirkland, WA, working Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM PST, with the ability to flex to 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST as needed. Flexibility to adjust hours and availability for escalations on a rotational basis is expected. Periodic travel to other Leo ProdOps facilities across the Puget Sound (Redmond, Kirkland, Everett) is part of the job.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own the people strategy for your site cluster end to end. You"re the senior HRP on the ground and the first call for site leadership.
    • Guide a pod of site HRPs without formal authority. Coordinate coverage across shifts, keep the team aligned on priorities, and drive knowledge sharing so nothing falls through the cracks on the floor.
    • Stay ahead through floor presence and data. Conduct regular Gemba walks, use sentiment data and listening mechanisms to spot issues early, and work with site leaders to act before problems take root.
    • Bridge site operations and org strategy. Partner with the Sr. HRP Manager and Site HRP Manager to align priorities, flag emerging risks, and translate big-picture direction into action your sites can feel. Work across HRBPs, Employee Relations, Labor Relations to execute site-specific programs.
    • Consult on the hardest people topics and handle escalations. Advise site leadership on talent, performance, compensation, among other things. Run workplace investigations with discretion, applying Amazon policies and high judgment as the first point of escalation for complex concerns.
    • Build better leaders and drive culture. Coach site managers to sharpen their decision-making, strengthen their teams, and own culture on the floor. Set goals with leaders, build action plans, and track progress as the business evolves.
    • Simplify the employee experience and lead change. Develop and improve PXT programs for hourly employees, find opportunities to standardize, and own change management - communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption - so new processes actually land.
    • Influence beyond your sites. Collaborate with central HR teams to improve processes, shape product development, and build mechanisms that scale. This role is a proving ground for future people leadership - demonstrate readiness through how you influence, coordinate, and deliver results.

    About Company

So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
