    Description

    Position Overview

    This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting and reporting functions across a suite of hedge funds and separately managed portfolios. The individual will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, acting as a point of review for both internal outputs and external service providers while contributing to process efficiency and team development.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Own the end-to-end accounting oversight for designated funds and accounts, including supervising deliverables produced by junior staff and third-party/offshore support teams
    • Perform detailed reconciliations between trading platforms and the firm's accounting system (Geneva), proactively researching and resolving discrepancies
    • Evaluate NAV reporting packages prepared by fund administrators, identifying inconsistencies and coordinating issue resolution with both internal stakeholders and external partners
    • Review and validate daily and monthly financial activity, including P&L fluctuations, balance sheet movements, and key drivers impacting NAV
    • Partner with internal departments, administrators, and external auditors to support accounting, valuation, and reporting workflows
    • Develop a strong understanding of pricing methodologies and market data inputs across a range of complex hedge fund instruments
    • Contribute to ongoing enhancements of accounting and reporting processes, including automation and control improvements
    • Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to less experienced team members, fostering development and accuracy in output
    • Support ad hoc reporting requests, analytics, and strategic initiatives as needed

    Candidate Profile

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
    • At least 3+ years of relevant experience within fund accounting, alternative asset management, or public accounting environments
    • Direct experience supporting hedge fund strategies, with exposure to asset classes such as fixed income securities, derivatives (options, futures, swaps), and ETFs
    • Familiarity with hedge fund structures and interaction with third-party administrators
    • Hands-on experience with Advent Geneva or similar portfolio accounting systems
    • Advanced Excel capabilities, with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify discrepancies
    • Strong analytical mindset with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Effective communicator with the ability to interact across teams and external partners
