Senior Heavy Equipment Operator / ForemanPosition SummaryAllied Development Group is a site development, excavating and utilities contractor in Central Ohio.  We are in need of a Senior Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to be responsible for safely operating heavy construction equipment while leading field crews to complete projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. This position serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating daily work activities, supervising employees, communicating with project management, and ensuring accurate documentation of labor, equipment, and materials.The Foreman is expected to lead by example, promote a positive work environment, and maintain productive relationships with customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and company personnel.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & SupervisionDirect and supervise field crews on assigned projects.Plan daily work activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.Assign tasks based on employee skills and project requirements.Train and mentor equipment operators and laborers.Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.Conduct daily safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.Monitor crew performance and provide coaching as needed.Equipment OperationSafely operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, graders, rollers, and other construction equipment.Perform complex excavation, grading, trenching, utility installation, and site development work.Ensure equipment is operated efficiently to minimize downtime and unnecessary wear.Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.Project ManagementRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, utility drawings, and grade stakes.Coordinate daily work with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, utility companies, subcontractors, and customers.Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and schedules.Identify potential issues early and communicate solutions.Monitor project progress and adjust work plans as necessary.Documentation & ReportingComplete accurate daily reports, including:Labor hoursEquipment hoursMaterials usedQuantities installedWeather conditionsDelays and downtimeExtra work and change ordersVerify time sheets for crew members.Document work performed for Time & Material projects.Ensure documentation supports customer billing and project cost tracking.Maintain project records that accurately reflect daily jobsite activities.SafetyEnforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.Conduct daily equipment inspections.Identify and eliminate jobsite hazards.Ensure proper trench protection, utility locating, and safe excavation practices.Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.Customer RelationsRepresent the company professionally on every project.Communicate effectively with customers and owners' representatives.Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.Maintain positive working relationships with inspectors and other trades.QualificationsMinimum 7–10 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
