An outstanding career opportunity is available for a Senior HSE Manager on the Industrial Automation (IA) Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions HSE team. This role is primarily focused on environmental matters, with some responsibility for safety across the business. The leader will drive environmental excellence by implementing effective operating mechanisms that ensure regulatory compliance, manage environmental risk, and strengthen performance at the operating level.

This position reports to the Senior HSE Director for Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions and is based in Charlotte, NC OR Cleveland, OH.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline is required.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in environmental excellence or health, safety, and environment (HSE) roles.

WE VALUE

  • An advanced degree in engineering or HSE is preferred, and professional certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and global environmental laws and regulations is highly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to engage senior leaders across business functions.
  • Experience leading and managing environmental excellence programs.
  • A critical thinker who challenges assumptions, seeks new ideas, and has a proven track record of leading teams to successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve environmental performance or lead culture change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the implementation of environmental programs and practices aligned with Honeywell Corporate HSE and IA HSE management systems.
  • Set the vision, goals, objectives, and targets for environmental performance, and provide metrics that drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for environmental issues, programs, and processes, including compliance with standards, policies, permits, and applicable local and national regulations.
  • Review, interpret, and communicate new Honeywell Corporate and IA environmental procedures, legal requirements, and other applicable obligations.
  • Support the development of IA environmental standards and programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines in areas such as air quality, wastewater, stormwater, spill prevention, waste, drinking water, and container management.
  • Lead or participate in investigations of significant environmental incidents and related root cause analyses.
  • Support the resolution of potential environmental noncompliance issues, enforcement actions, claims, disputes, and litigation related to HSE matters.
