We're looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team developing the next generation of satellite modem technology. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer who enjoys taking complex designs from concept through testing, bring-up, and production.
You'll play a key role in designing and developing advanced hardware for satellite communication products, working closely with FPGA, RF, software, and systems engineers to bring innovative solutions to life.
Design, develop, and document next-generation hardware for satellite modems and related products
Develop FPGA-based satellite modem designs integrated on PCBs
Own key aspects of the hardware development lifecycle, including:
Component selection
Schematic design and PCB layout
Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis
Board bring-up, testing, and debugging
Work with high-speed digital interfaces, memory, clocks, power distribution, and communications hardware
Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges
Help drive designs from initial concept through successful testing and implementation
Communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering and cross-functional teams
5+ years of hardware design experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Strong experience designing communications systems and digital hardware
Hands-on experience with:
FPGAs and circuit design
Microprocessors
DDR/LPDDR, Flash, SPI NOR, and eMMC memory
PLLs, clock distribution, and fanout buffers
Differential and single-ended signaling and termination techniques
Power Distribution Network (PDN) design and analysis
Ethernet PHY and switch chips
SERDES interfaces
ADCs and DACs
Experience with laboratory equipment including:
Oscilloscopes
Spectrum analyzers
Vector network analyzers
Logic analyzers
Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and matrixed engineering organizations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Working knowledge of SATCOM waveforms and satellite communications
Experience with RF/L-band design and PCB layout
Hands-on soldering and hardware rework experience
Experience mentoring engineers or taking on technical leadership responsibilities
An active DoD clearance or the ability to obtain one
This is more than a traditional hardware design role. You'll have the opportunity to work on mission-critical satellite communication technology, tackle challenging high-speed hardware problems, and see your designs move from the engineering bench into real-world applications.
If you're a hands-on hardware engineer who loves solving difficult technical problems and wants to work on cutting-edge SATCOM technology, we'd love to hear from you.
