Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established higher education organization that is looking to add a Senior Grants Accountant. This organization is looking for someone professional who can work on a team just as effectively as they can work independently. Grant accounting experience is required, and nonprofit and government accounting experience is a plus.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr - $40/hr

Position Overview:
Applicants must have strong attention to detail and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with nonprofit general accounting and grant accounting.

Responsibilities of the Senior Grants Accountant:
  • Perform matching, batching, coding, and entering of invoices.
  • Manage grant accounting activities and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Research and resolve accounts payable issues with customers and vendors.
  • Update and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Support nonprofit and government accounting functions.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Grants Accountant:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Grants Accountant:
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Experience with nonprofit and government accounting software.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Equivalent experience will be considered.
