    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Senior Global Marketing Manager, Upstream Strategy, Innovation and Product Management which is a new role in the Infectious Diseases  (ID) business unit, part of Abbott’s Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics Division (RMDx), located in Lake Forest, Illinois. 

    This is a key role on in our Global Strategic Marketing Team, responsible for upstream platform innovation to strengthen our overall portfolio and contribute to the continued growth of our rapid diagnostics business.

    The Senior Global Marketing Manager will play a critical role in shaping the future of our diagnostic product portfolio. This individual will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of new product development, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals.

    The key objective for this new role is to develop a new rapid diagnostics platform which will help to expand the market and ensure our market leadership in the upcoming decade. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive the strategic direction of new product development, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals.

    • Key leader in cross functional launch team, serving as the voice-of-the-customer and voice-of-the-business in development of a next-generation platform

    • Drive NPI (New Product Introduction) and GTM (Go to Market) processes and align stakeholders on TPP (Target Product Profile) requirements

    • Develop business cases to assess future innovations with cross-functional teams to validate technical and commercial feasibility

    • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify unmet needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.

    • Develop and execute product strategies that align with company objectives and market opportunities.

    • Work closely with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to ensure successful product development and launch.

    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and ensure products meet customer needs.

    • Create detailed business cases for new product initiatives, including market analysis, financial projections, and risk assessments.

    • Develop go-to-market strategies and launch plans.

    • Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to effectively achieve business goals.

    • Support key opinion leader (KOL) development initiatives for the business along with local commercial teams.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 8+ years of experience in related field with 5+ years of progressively responsible positions in product marketing.

    • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.  MBA with marketing emphasis and experience in diagnostics is preferred. 

    • Demonstrated cross functional leadership skills

    • Strong business and financial acumen

    • Strong track record of launching successful products and robust understanding of upstream marketing best practices.

    • Knowledge of key aspects of NPI (New Product Introduction), as well as GTM (Go to Market) strategy.

    • Translate stakeholder insights into strategies that meet business needs to deliver long-term profitable growth.

    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.

    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization.

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

    • Ability to travel up to 40% of time dependent on business needs.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Global experience, outside of US is a plus

    • People management experience is a plus.

    • High level of comfort with interpreting and communicating complex technical information including statistics and clinical concepts.

    • Knowledge of regulations and standards appropriate to the industry.

    • Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices and ideally experience with molecular diagnostic solutions and product requirements.

    • Experience in software, UI/UX, connectivity and digital services and solutions.

    The base pay for this position is

    $129,300.00 – $258,700.00

    In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
