    Position: Senior General Accountant – Inventory & Cost Accounting
    Location: Aliso Viejo, CA
    Duration: 12 Months
    Shift: 1st Shift

    Position Summary
    Assist with a variety of accounting tasks, with a special focus on inventory cost and transaction accounting and international subsidiary accounting. This position will research and analyze accounts, prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, and support audits, process improvements, and special projects.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Responsible for inventory and COGS areas of the monthly close cycle for US operations, including journal preparation and account reconciliations.
    • Assist with month-end close processes in Expandable, including recording labor absorption on completed job orders.
    • Coordinate and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for international subsidiaries.
    • Prepare reclassification and accrual transactions necessary for accurate financial statements.
    • Prepare Warranty and Inventory reserves.
    • Prepare cost of sales reclassification journal entries.
    • Assist in the development of material, labor, and overhead standard costs.
    • Research and analyze standard cost variances and gross margins.
    • Assist with annual physical inventory counts and adjustments in the ERP system.
    • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and departmental expense reporting files.
    • Serve as the business unit subject matter expert for general accounting processes and complex accounting solutions.
    • Provide training and guidance to junior staff where needed.
    • Contribute to year-end filings, audits, and tax preparation by providing requested documentation and analysis.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights and analysis of financial performance.
    • Assist with other projects and activities as directed.
    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Understanding of general accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables, to manage large volumes of data.
    • Understanding of inventory-related financial transactions and reporting.
    • Knowledge of Expandable Accounting or similar ERP software.
    • Experience with external financial audits.
    • Ability to safeguard confidential information.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work within firm deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering accurate, quality work products on time.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
