GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Functional Costpoint SMR is the organizations lead expert in Deltek Costpoint, responsible for driving strategic alignment between enterprise business processes and ERP capabilities. This role leads cross functional initiatives, architects functional solutions, oversees complex configurations, and ensures the Costpoint ecosystem supports growth, compliance, and operational excellence. The Senior SMR mentors junior analysts, partners with Finance, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Payroll, IT, leadership, and external partners playing a key role in shaping the organizations ERP roadmap.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serve as the top functional authority and escalation point for Costpoint processes, configurations, and cross module dependencies.
Lead enterprise-wide ERP enhancement initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate, design, and implement optimized business processes leveraging advanced Costpoint capabilities.
Architect functional designs for integrations/data flow between Costpoint and systems such as T&E, GovWin, TIPQA, timekeeping platforms, PLM/MES systems, banking feeds, and BI/reporting tools. Validating functional impacts and ensuring inbound/outbound data flows remain compliant and reliable.
Oversee and guide functional testing frameworks, UAT planning, and governance for releases, upgrades, and patches.
Provide senior-level support for financial close cycles, audit requests, and compliance-driven system requirements.
Advise leadership on ERP roadmap planning, system adoption strategies, and process standardization efforts.
Mentor, train, and provide technical direction to Costpoint analysts and functional SMEs.
Collaborate with IT leadership on data integrity, security models, workflow architecture, and system performance.
Develop and maintain high impact documentation including functional architecture, configuration baselines, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
Lead vendor interactions, escalations, and solution validation for complex Costpoint issues.
Support executive decision-making by providing ERP insights, analysis, and recommendations.
Oversee the creation/revision of:
Account and org structures
Project/contract types
Indirect rate setups
Labor/Payroll rules
Security role mappings
Approval workflows
Validate system controls, approval flows, segregation-of-duties, and audit trails
Support audit documentation and post?migration compliance review.
All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Facilitate consolidation efforts across multiple Costpoint instances, business units, or legacy configurationsdriving standardized chart?of?accounts, org structures, project structures, rate models, approval workflows, and procurement lifecycles.
Align stakeholders on a unified future-state design and ensuring consistent business rules across Finance, Projects, Contract Management, and supporting modules.
Expert level knowledge across multiple Deltek Costpoint modules and functional interdependencies
Strong ability to design end to end business processes and translate them into scalable system configurations
Expertise in complex integrations, reporting models, and data validation
Advanced understanding of FAR, CAS, DFARS, indirect rate structures, and government contracting cost principles
Strategic thinking with the ability to align ERP capabilities to enterprise goals
Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and guiding junior team members
Strong project leadership capabilities across cross functional ERP initiatives
Advanced analytical and problem solving capabilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and senior leaders
Experience developing governance, change management, and testing frameworks
Ability to operate independently and manage multiple large scale initiatives simultaneously
Strong organizational maturity and understanding of enterprise operational dynamics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
710+ years of experience with Deltek Costpoint in a functional, SME, or consulting role
Experience leading major ERP upgrades, implementations, or enterprise modernization efforts
Background in government contracting, aerospace, defense, engineering, or large project driven organizations
Experience working with enterprise integrations (T&E, payroll, procurement suites, data warehouses, analytics platforms)
Experience consolidating multiple Costpoint environments or business units.
Leadership experience in an ERP, finance systems, or business process transformation team
Recommended Certifications:
Deltek Costpoint Functional Expert/Advanced Certifications (module-specific)
Deltek Costpoint Core Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
ITIL Foundation Certification for service management practices
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt for enterprise process optimization
