Senior Functional and Automation Tester

Location: Washington, DC

Seeking for a Senior Functional and Automation Tester for validating the quality, functionality, integration, and reliability of enterprise applications and services through functional and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing of enterprise applications and services.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test cases, and validation criteria.
• Develop, execute, and maintain functional and automated tests.
• Test and validate Java-based backend applications and services.
• Perform REST API testing, including validation of requests, responses, status codes, payloads, integrations, authentication, and authorization.
• Test applications and services deployed in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments.
• Validate integrations between applications, APIs, cloud services, and backend components.
• Support testing of AI-enabled features and AI service integrations, including use cases such as summarization, classification, and data extraction.
• Validate AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, expected behavior, and failure scenarios.
• Identify, document, track, and retest software defects.
• Work closely with developers and other team members to investigate and resolve application issues.
• Apply secure engineering and testing principles, including least privilege, secrets handling, encryption, authentication/authorization, and audit logging concepts.
• Use Git and modern development workflows to support automated testing activities.

Required Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of software development/testing experience, including internships, co-ops, professional assignments, or equivalent project experience.
• Experience testing or working with Java-based backend applications or services.
• Understanding of functional and automated software testing concepts.
• Basic understanding of cloud concepts with exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, integration patterns, and API testing concepts.
• Understanding of basic authentication and authorization concepts.
• Exposure to AI concepts or AI service integrations, such as summarization, classification, or extraction.
