    Highlights

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build the software that turns Chemify's robotic synthesis platform into something scientists can drive - the services that schedule and execute runs across racks of robotic hardware, and the interfaces chemists use to design, launch, and monitor experiments. What sets this role apart is that the "stack" reaches all the way down to real instruments: the code you ship has physical consequences in the lab, and you can watch your work turn digital intent into synthesised molecules.

    Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

    About Chemify

Chemify is revolutionising chemistry. We are creating a future where the synthesis of previously unimaginable molecules, drugs, and materials is instantly accessible. By combining AI, robotics, and the world's largest continually expanding database of chemical programs, we are accelerating chemical discovery to improve quality of life and extend the reach of humanity.

    Location: San Francisco, US

    The Role

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build the software that turns Chemify's robotic synthesis platform into something scientists can drive - the services that schedule and execute runs across racks of robotic hardware, and the interfaces chemists use to design, launch, and monitor experiments. You will partner with firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and chemistry teams, and own meaningful slices of the platform end to end.

What sets this role apart is that the "stack" reaches all the way down to real instruments: the code you ship has physical consequences in the lab, and you can watch your work turn digital intent into synthesised molecules.

If building full-stack software on a real-world robotic platform sounds like the right shape of job for you, we'd love to welcome you to our team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, build, and ship full-stack features across backend services and web front-ends, owning them from spec to production.
    • Build and harden the systems that translate experiment definitions into reliable, observable robotic execution.
    • Work closely with firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and chemistry teams to close the loop between digital intent and physical result.
    • Raise the technical bar through design reviews, code review, and pragmatic architecture decisions.
    • Mentor junior engineers and help shape how the team builds.

    About You

You are an experienced engineer who ships - equally at home designing a service and polishing the interface someone actually uses. You care about whether your work changes what happens on the lab floor, not just whether the build is green, and you're comfortable owning ambiguous problems end to end.

    We expect you to bring:

    • 5+ years building and shipping production software end-to-end.
    • Strong command of a backend language (Python/C/C++)
    • Solid grasp of API design, databases, testing, and CI/CD; comfortable owning services in production.
    • A track record of delivering complex features independently and lifting the people around you.
    • A pragmatic, ownership-driven approach and comfort in a fast-moving environment.

    Beneficial Skills

    • Experience with hardware-adjacent or real-time systems, instrument control, IoT, or robotics software.
    • Background in scientific, lab-automation, manufacturing, or other physical-world software.
    • Cloud infrastructure and containerisation.

    Why Join Chemify?

Impact. The software you build is how scientists drive the platform - your work directly shapes what Chemify's robotic systems can plan, run, and observe.

Autonomy. You will own significant parts of the platform and have real influence over how it is built.

Ambition. We are a Series B deep-tech company investing in world-class infrastructure at the frontier of AI, robotics, and chemistry - with the resources and mandate to build software that turns design into physical experiment
