Description

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.


Pay:$81.00 - $91.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex business and technical challenges, and is passionate about building scalable, high-quality software solutions.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in full-stack software development, demonstrate a strong track record of designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications, and provide technical leadership through mentorship, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates with experience developing workflow-driven applications using the Temporal platform are strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack applications and services.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that support scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Mentor and support software engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best-practice adoption.
  • Drive engineering excellence through process improvements, automation, and technical leadership.
  • Develop and maintain front-end applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and integrations as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and technical refinement sessions.
  • Advocate for software quality through testing, code reviews, monitoring, and observability practices.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, equivalent experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience with full-stack software development across modern web technologies.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable applications.
  • Experience developing and consuming APIs and integrating enterprise systems.
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Angular Material, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design (frontend technologies/frameworks).
  • Experience with Python, FastAPI, REST API development, serverless architectures, and workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal (backend languages/frameworks).
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and relational database design and optimization (database technologies).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud including Lambda, API Gateway, EKS/Kubernetes, Aurora PostgreSQL, Secrets Manager, ECR, and cloud-native architectures (cloud platforms, if applicable).
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to quickly contribute in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.


Highly Preferred Qualifications:
  • Temporal Workflow Development
  • Strong experience with Temporal workflow development, including:
  • Workflow orchestration
  • Distributed systems
  • Business process automation
  • Long-running workflow design
  • Fault tolerance and resiliency patterns
  • Event-driven architectures


Additional Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and containerized microservices architectures (containerization/ orchestration technologies, if applicable).
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline development (CI/CD tools and practices, if applicable).
  • Experience with CloudWatch, structured logging, application monitoring, observability, and performance monitoring tools (monitoring, logging, or observability platforms, if applicable).
  • Optional - Experience within Utilities, Energy, Enterprise Architecture Governance, Workflow Automation, or Business Process Management industry or business domain.
