As an Onsite Senior Backend Architect & DevOps Engineer – for a Proprietary Content Management System (CMS) , this role will design and build a custom, homegrown CMS from the ground up using Node.js . This role will own the core content engine APIs, advanced NoSQL database design (MongoDB and DynamoDB) , and the automated AWS infrastructure (IaC) powering the system. Operating fully onsite, this role will work closely with digital experience teams to deliver a highly scalable, headless content platform optimized for React and Next.js frontends.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect a decoupled, headless CMS backend using enterprise-grade Node.js (TypeScript).Design flexible content modeling schemas, asset pipelines, and version control mechanisms.Build secure, high-performance GraphQL and RESTful APIs optimized for consumption by frontend frameworks like React and Next.js .Implement optimized caching layers (e.g., Redis, CloudFront) to ensure ultra-low latency content delivery.Model and manage high-volume, semi-structured content data layers using NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB and AWS DynamoDB .Optimize query performance, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and data sharding strategies for large-scale content repositories.Own the provisioning and maintenance of all AWS infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK .Design serverless or containerized cloud architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, and Fargate .Architect API integration points for AI/LLM orchestration, enabling automated content tagging, smart search indexing, and metadata generation.Partner face-to-face with onsite frontend developers to co-author API contracts and optimize data-fetching patterns.Build, deploy, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for zero-downtime microservices deployment.Establish backend coding standards, conduct code reviews, and draft Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).Set up cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog).Qualifications & SkillsBackend Expertise: 10+ years in software engineering with advanced Node.js (TypeScript) backend application development.Database Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience designing, scaling, and indexing NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB and DynamoDB .AI-Assisted Development: Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to optimize development velocity, code generation, and IaC drafting.AWS & DevOps Proficiency: Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code ( Terraform or AWS CDK ) and core AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3).API Craftsmanship: Expert-level knowledge of GraphQL schema design, REST API optimization, and microservices patterns.Frontend Alignment (Preferred): Familiarity with React and Next.js frameworks to ensure efficient integration and Server-Side Rendering (SSR) capabilities.Onsite Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to drive real-time, in-person alignment with frontend engineers and product stakeholders.#J-18808-Ljbffr
